Mr. Douglas Fleit is one of the co-founding partners of ACP Mid-Atlantic and serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. Douglas Fleit brings over 34 years of extensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate, spanning more than 40 office markets throughout the country. Mr. Fleit’s work involved transactions of various types of structures in a multitude of areas including acquisition, leasing, finance, sales, disposition and development totaling more than 30 million square feet of transactions.
Together with Brian Katz, President of ACP Mid-Atlantic, they acquired more than $1.25 billion square feet of office, flex, industrial and residential assets, spanning major office markets in the Eastern Seaboard, including Washington, D.C. and the Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs, New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Raleigh-Durham.
Mr. Fleit is known as one of the pre-eminent real estate professionals and investors in the United States. His skills in acquisition and leasing have helped to guide ACP Mid-Atlantic and its affiliates in acquiring assets that fit the needs of the ACP Mid-Atlantic’s institutional investment clients and help to position each asset to maximize its value.
Prior to founding ACP Mid-Atlantic, for the previous 22 years, Douglas Fleit was an Executive Vice President of Cushman & Wakefield’s Commercial Brokerage Group (C&W), founding their Northern Virginia operation in 1981, and was consistently recognized as one the top C&W brokers in the entire national organization. He served on Cushman & Wakefield’s National Board of Advisors as well as serving on the firm’s National Arbitration Committee as well as serving and organizing many of the company’s training and educational programs to elevate the skills and knowledge of C&W’s brokerage professionals throughout the region and the country. Douglas Fleit’s vision and guidance helped grow the firm’s presence both regionally and nationally.
For the four years beginning in 1977, Douglas Fleit worked for Savage/Fogarty, a Dutch institutional merchant developer, where he leased, financed and sold Savage/Fogarty’s new and renovated developments.
Douglas Fleit received his Bachelors of Psychology/Neurochemistry from the University of New Hampshire in 1976.
